Newsletter #20: Mike Riordan, Greenville Health System Interview
We are especially excited to recognize Greenville Health System (GHS) this month. Of all of the clients we have worked with, the leaders at GHS have been the most devoted to incorporating conscious leadership throughout their whole organization including thousands of employees.
One thing we are particularly proud of GHS is their practice of “through me” visioning. They ask big questions like, “What is healthcare’s greatest expression that wants to come in and through Greenville Health System.” Several years ago, at a senior executive planning retreat, a question like this led to a vision and plan to partner with the University of South Carolina to build a medical school that trained doctors in new innovative ways with an emphasis on supporting diversity, inclusion and interdisciplinary approaches to care delivery. The USC School of Medicine Greenville graduated its inaugural class in May 2016.
For those of you who want to learn more about how you can bring the 15 commitments more deeply into your own culture, we encourage you to take the time to learn about all of the creative ways GHS is generating a more conscious culture. You can also learn more by seeing Diana Chapman interview Tod Tappert of GHS at this year’s Mindful Leadership Summit. See the event section for more details.
If you are ready to have us come in to support you and your team, we would love to hear from you. Reach out to us at [email protected] to set up a time to connect.
