Introduction to Conscious Leadership / Training for Leaders

This event is for leaders and their teams to explore the core concepts and models of conscious leadership. We introduce the technologies we use to support peak engagement, innovation, and drama-free collaboration.

This event is highly experiential.  Participants will engage in multiple exercises in pairs and triads with follow-up full group debriefs.  Each participant will explore a professional relationship challenge and learn how they can permanently shift the pattern. We use the same principles to explore a team dynamic of the group’s choosing.

Participants will walk away with an understanding of what conscious leadership is, the difference between leading from trust vs. threat, how to identify their own threat patterns, and technologies for shifting from threat to trust.

Our work is being used inside organizations including Asana, Leo Burnett Group, Genentech, World Bank, Kauffman Fellows, Greenville Health Systems, SAP, and more.

Participants will learn...

  • What conscious leadership is
  • The difference between leading from trust vs. threat
  • How to identify their own threat patterns
  • Technologies to shift from threat to trust (for individuals and the group)

What we cover

Context versus Content. Paying attention to context is the key to a drama free culture.

Leading from Trust Vs. Fear. This distinction is at the heart of repeating drama patterns in organizations. Understanding this model immediately shifts the effectiveness of conversations both team and organization wide.

The 4 Questions of Conscious Leadership. Four key questions designed to be used ongoing to build self awareness and become a more conscious leader.

The 15 Commitments. This model outlines behaviors and beliefs that are the most significant limiting factors for a team. The primary focus is on the cornerstone commitments 1 and 2.

The Drama Triangle. The Triangle roles of Victim, Villain, and Hero describes the go-to positions that create and perpetuate drama and limit organizational growth and creativity.

Willingness to Shift. We cover the difference between wanting to shift and being willing to shift. We provide willingness questions to help teams discover if they’re actually willing to shift the issues they say they want to change.

Shift Technologies. We introduce simple technologies that you can immediately put into action in the midst of challenging interactions to change the dynamic and outcome by shifting from threat to trust.

This event stands on its own as a training to expand self-awareness as individuals and a team. For leaders who are committed to ending drama and creating conscious cultures, the training serves as the introduction to our Conscious Culture Program, a six-month conscious leadership training program.

Who should attend?

We recommend a training for your executive team or top 12-20 leaders first. If you are a smaller startup, it may make sense to include the whole team. Contact us for guidance.

Where do we hold the event?

Your event can be held on- or off-site. We require a room large enough for everyone to comfortably sit on chairs in a circle with no furniture in the middle and to move about the room for exercises.

What is the event timing?

This is a one to two day event.

Typical Schedule:
Session 9-10:30
Break 10:30-45
Session 10:45-12:15
Lunch 12:15-1:30
Session 1:30-3:00
Break 3:00-3:15
Session 3:15-5:00

Can we do this event in a half day versus a full day?

While we highly recommend a full day, half-day are possible for teams who are simply unable to dedicate a full day.
