CLG has given me the structure to focus my attention and energy on truly coaching rather than directing my team. CLG has also given Asana a shared framework and language for people to clear their frustrations or fears, and the ability to talk about tough interpersonal dynamics. Commitment #10, seeing how the opposite of my story can be just as true, has given me a tool to deal with the toughest management situations I encounter.

CLG empowers our staff with tools, such as the clearing model, that scale with the company and help preserve a culture of candor and ownership. For me there is something deeply important about Commitment #1, taking 100% responsibility—not 105%, and not 95%. The CLG training is a great reminder to reflect on "what does taking 100% responsibility look like?" As a leader, this also translates to mentoring my team through taking responsibility rather than feeling "at the effect of" creating outcomes that align with their vision of success.

Taking 100% responsibility" (Commitment #1) is a phrase I use almost daily. I think about it when I find myself unhappy with a situation and realize that I am an active participant in my life and my career. I can take 100% responsibility, rather than expecting others to fix things for me. Having everyone at the company go through CLG training has changed the way we interact with each other. I came back to work after a long leave and was surprised to be in a meeting with people who normally have very strong opinions and to see it go smoothly. They were really listening to each other and building on each others ideas. It turned out they had all recently been through CLG training.
